Influence of the artificial footing around the pile zone on the work of single pile foundation under horizontal load

Annotation: 

The article considers the methods of pile calculation for horizontal loading by domestic and foreign methods. The results of analytical and numerical models are compared with the data obtained during the field testing of soils with piles under the action of horizontal load. Analytical calculations are performed according to Appendix 1 to SNiP 2.02.03-85. Numerical simulation is performed in the PC Plaxis 3D using the Hardening Soil (HS) model (elastic-plastic model with hardening). The operation of the «pile - sand cushion - soil» system and the influence of dimensions of the sand cushion on the pile bearing capacity is investigated by means of finite element model.
