Review article

The article considers the importance of monitoring the introduction of changes in the construction of vehicles in operation. Statistical data are given on the number of road accidents that have occurred due to technical failures of vehicles. One of the ways of improving control over road traffic safety by the «automobile» factor is indicated. An algorithm for conducting the preliminary technical expertise is described, and a formal mathematical description of this algorithm is given. An example of practical application of the developed algorithm is given, based on the obtained mathematical dependences.
