The article presents a methodology and test results of the research aimed at assessing the characteristics alteration of soil under the underground part of the building. There are submitted numeric calculation results of deformation and strength characteristics change of soil in the excavation pit and outside the pit, in the base of the surrounding buildings. The authors emphasize the expediency of carrying out the operational supervision of changes taking place in geotechnical conditions during construction using the CPT-methods and updated soil characteristics for estimating the construction impact zones, as well as providing a geotechnical forecast of the mutual effect of the construction and the surrounding buildings.
