In Russia, the danger of complete loss of many wooden monuments of Russian architecture, which are part of the world-famous but fragile in character cultural heritage of the country, is constantly increasing. Every year, over ten monuments of wooden architecture are regarded as lost completely. One of the reasons for these losses is the lack of engineering solutions in many restoration projects. The authors of the paper propose using some techniques of strengthening the beams of the lower quadrangle of the Church of Transfiguration on Kizhi Island.
