Review article

The present research is aimed at development of new methods for strengthening of damaged and not damaged masonry vaults and arches. Currently existing methods of reinforcement and new theoretic insights into the methods of strengthening of masonry arches and vaults with preservation of their appearance and application of steel and composite materials are highlighted. The proposed methods take into consideration the real work of spacing systems, which allows considerably cutting the specific consumption of materials used for strengthening in comparison with analogous methods. Some of the proposed methods of strengthening allow preserving the appearance of the reinforced structures.
