Review article

Russian and foreign experience of using foam polystyrene in light weight concrete manufacture is reviewed. Methods of control of polystyrene concrete physical-mechanical properties are studied. It has been established, that addition of liquid glass and chamotte into the composition of polystyrene concrete contributes not only to the strength of the material, but also to its preservation after high-temperature exposure. The rational composition of the composite based on polystyrene, Portland cement and refractory additives was determined by the method of experiment planning.
