Annotation:

The paper presents a physiographic and geographic description of the Tura River, water use in the river basin, and analysis of long-term data on the chemical composition of water. As a result of the performed data analysis, it has been found out that the water quality remains consistently low. Pollutants are: organic substances, ammonium nitrogen, manganese, phenols, phosphates, nitrites, nickel, copper, iron, lead and mercury. The main reason for these negative changes can be considered a significant anthropogenic load along the entire length of the river as a result of human activity in the Sverdlovsk and Tyumen regions, including significant volumes of river water withdrawal.
