Annotation: 

This paper addresses the issue of improving the mixing efficiency of water and reagents in the operation of water and wastewater treatment plants in China. To improve mixing, the possibility of using pipe static mixers with a modified design as an alternative to the traditional mixing method is proposed. Reagent mixing performance was evaluated using computer simulation in ANSYS FLUENT program. In the course of modeling, the operation of pipe mixers operated at wastewater treatment plants abroad was considered. According to the results of calculation,the advantages and disadvantages of existing designs of pipe mixer were analyzed and the growth of the efficiency of mixing the reagent when using the mixer proposed by the authors of the article was noted.
