Building roof is most often exposed to a variety of impacts, such as hurricane-force winds and collisions with unmanned aerial vehicles. In addition, areas that were previously relatively calm are now experiencing increased seismic activity. The possibility of a situation with sequential impacts of unfavorable factors causes the need to create comprehensive protection of the buildingroof. For this purpose, it is proposed to use a dynamic vibration damper in the form of a ‘flexible top floor’. There has been carried out an analysis of possible design options for this structure and the possibility of its application for other protective functions.
