There has been carried out an analysis of regulations on the account of progressive collapse in the design of linear structures in relation to steel structures of supports of overhead power lines with a voltage of 330-750 kV. Methods are considered and examples are given for calculating a two-chain anchor-angular free-standing support for 330 kV overhead lines and an intermediate steel portal support on guy ropes for 750 kV overhead power transmission lines for emergency loads and impacts. The calculations for the conditions of the average operating mode are substantiated. Proposals have been developed to protect power transmission line supports from progressive collapse.
