Annotation:
The purpose of the study is to identify the architectural features of Orthodox churches built in Canada. The article deals with Orthodox religious buildings referring to the period from 1891 to 1917, when the first emigrants, who were the bearers of the Orthodox culture, started coming to the country. The work reveals the prerequisites for the emergence of the Orthodoxy in Canada, the main types of Orthodox churches belonging to this period are listed. There have been considered the traditions of the church construction of the period, as well as the volume-planning and stylistic features of the most significant religious buildings.
