The materials used for building pressure vessels and high pressure cases are subject to stringent requirements in terms of reliability, crack resistance and strength. Such reinforced concrete structures predominantly work under tension and their strength is determined by the amount of reinforcement. increased reinforcement content in the cross-section with a simultaneous increase in the dispersion of reinforcement leads to a significant improvement in the performance of the material compared to conventional reinforced concrete. For the same percentages of reinforcement, the intensity of crack opening is the less, the greater is the specific surface area ratio of the reinforcement. The paper is devoted to the creation of an analytical calculation for determining the spacing and width of crack opening in a thick-walled spherical shell made of heavy reinforced concrete (HRC). The calculation method is based on some proposals of Phd in Sci. Tech. A. V. Kholtsov for cylindrical reactors. For an axi-symmetrical spherical shell, the solution is given for the first time.
