Review article

The article considers the problem of transforming street space in industrial zones of modern cities. Emphasis is placed on the need for a comprehensive approach to the renovation of industrial zones of cities with the prospect of their transformation to zones for the development of residential buildings and multifunctional public and business development under integrated territorial development programs (hereinafter referred to as ITD programs) with the progressive development of transport infrastructure facilities. The advantages of developing bicycle infrastructure in urban environment are revealed. This could serve as a tool for including such socially and environmentally oriented projects in the ITD programs for industrial areas,as well as in the register of standard reusable design schemes of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities of the Russian Federation for implementation in other Russian cities.
