Review article

The article deals with normative documents regulating the control over making changes in the construction of vehicles in service. The need for such control, as well as its procedure order, is indicated. Based on the currently valid standards, an algorithm for carrying out the preliminary technical expertise of the vehicle structure has been developed. The most important stage of this algorithm is considered, namely, the estimation of the possibility of making changes in the design using calculation methods, and the formation of recommendations for the performance of work. Depending on the type of the introduced changes, the volume of the assessment, which is carried out at implementation of preliminary technical examination, is defined.
