The main principle of the heat pump operation is totransfer the heat of a low-potential source to a highertemperature level. In ventilation and air conditioningsystems, the source of low-potential heat is the removedventilation air, and heat is transferred to the supply air. Thelack of methodology for calculating the air handling unitwith heat pumps makes their calculation and applicationdifficult. Heat pump has been tested on R134a refrigerant. There have been obtained dependences of energy conversioncoefficient on temperature of low-potential source atconstant temperature of refrigerant condensation andenergy conversion coefficient on difference of temperaturesof refrigerant condensation and boiling at constanttemperature of refrigerant boiling. The effectiveness ofusing heat pumps in ventilation, air conditioning and hotwater supply systems has been confirmed. The average conversion factor was 3.1.
