Influence of loading regimes on the deformation properties of LVL under compression along the fibers

Annotation: 

The article is devoted to investigating the deformational properties of laminated veneer lumber (LVL) by testing specimens under axial compression, which is induced by either a force-controlled or a displacement-controlled loading regime. The studies have revealed that this composite material exhibits significant non-linear deformational behavior and complex rheological characteristics, which depend both on the adopted loading regime of the specimens and on the rate of their deformation. For the force-controlled regime, specimen loading rates were taken from a range of 12,6 to 4000 N/s, while for the displacement-controlled regime the rates ranged from 0,02 to 20 mm/min. The values of the elastic moduli and the limits of induced high-elastic deformations of LVL are presented.
