Review article

The article deals with the dynamics of occupational traumatism rate in the Russian Federation in general and in the ore mining industry, on the example of the Belgorod region, in particular. It has been established that the number of workers injured as a result of industrial accidents in the period from 2000 to 2008 decreased by a factor of 3, while for the period from 2008 to 2015, the number of injured workers dropped by a factor of 1,5. This is the evidence of urgent necessity for the innovative approach to teaching the safe skills of work and labor safety with the constant control of workers` knowledge in this field. The authors present and analyze the data on operational traumatism in JSC "Lebedinsky GOK" and JSC "Plant KMAruda". The main causes of operational traumatism and the ways of decreasing it are determined.
