Annotation:
The paper presents the results of the analysis of changes in the strength properties of the bearing material during operation. There have been obtained results of hardness change in regard to changes in the thickness of the liners. There is proposed a method for determining the initial hardness of the material before the start of operation, which allows determining the absence or presence of a manufacturing defect that occurred at the production stage of liners. Based on the statistical analysis of the change in hardness from the degree of wear, there have been determined the accuracy indicators of the proposed calculation, as well as the boundaries of the application of the developed methodology. The data provided make it possible to increase the accuracy of the diagnostic study, reduce the cost of engine repair, and increase the operational reliability of vehicles.
