This paper presents an assessment of the currentcondition of sanitary sewer systems in the city of Nanjing,China. As a result of frequent seismic activity, there areobserved widespread longitudinal profile fractures acrosssewer network segments. The authors propose usingthe Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) rehabilitation methodas a viable repair solution. In order to evaluate theeffectiveness of the of the network section repair using theCIPP method, the hydraulic characteristics of the pipelinewere determined under the conditions of a new profile.Through the finite element analysis (FEA) there wasdetermined the condition of the deformed collector sewersection. The purpose of the study is to determine theeffect of the degree of vertical deformation of the pipelineon its hydraulic characteristics. To assess the quality ofmodel calculations, data from a laboratory experimenton a scale model of the collector were used, whichshowed good convergence with computational results. The results obtained will make it possible to developrecommendations for the use of the CIPP method in therepair of sewers with longitudinal profile deformation andincrease the efficiency of the sewer system.
