This article provides an example of assessing the impact in St. Petersburg on a linear structure - the embankment, which is located in the zone of influence of new construction. In the given example, the change in the stressed state of the structures of the embankment falling into the zone of influence is considered, and the criterion value is not the permissible deformation or the difference in deformations, but the strength parameters of the structure. The approach considered in this article is based on the determination of the accumulated stress state of structures, taking into account the additional impact from the reconstruction of the neighboring building. In addition to the absence of criteria in the regulatory documentation, the definition of additional deformations alone cannot sufficiently reflect the potential transition of a building or structure, for example, from a limited operational state to an emergency one. Analysis of the change in the stressed state of structures of buildings and facilities which are located in the zone of influence makes it possible to assess the impact on structures for which there are no limit values for deformations.
