The paper presents the research results of torsional oscillations of the structure located on the pendulum system of seismic isolation (SIS). Torsional oscillations are caused by the incongruence of the shear center (SC) with the mass center (CM) of the structure, as well as by rotational soil motions. In the calculations given below only the first reason is considered. The incongruence of SC and CM leads to an asynchronous motion of different pendulum drafts and to their different longitudinal deformation. Thereby, the tension and compression forces are different, which leads to the torsion, rocking and vertical displacement of the seismically isolated structure. The paper investigates the influence of the above-mentioned effects.
