This article presents an algorithm for probabilistic reliability analysis of rod systems based on the Monte Carlo method. Mathematical models of limit states are formulated in accordance with current design standards and include a combined assessment of the reliability of members and joints, taking into account the randomness of loads, steel strength, weld strength, and cross-section geometry. The algorithm is automated in MATLAB and tested on steel trusses made of paired angles and cold-formed welded sections using 10⁶ realizations, which made it possible to obtain alternatives comparable in weight and reliability without the excessive conservatism of the series system model.
