Annotation: 

The article raises issues related to the attempts to extend the practice of painting fire walls in Saint-Petersburg. The attitudes of the parties involved in this sphere are revealed, the existing experience in the monumental art work formation using the surface of fire walls is highlighted. Some examples of using fire walls in modern practice are critically assessed.
