Review article

The article analyzes the current trends in the design of power plants for propelling vehicles. There is a comparison of quality of powered drives operating on electric power. Such issues are considered as searching for means to improve the reserves quality of engines operating on hydrocarbon fuels. Some questions are raised regarding the possibilities in optimizing the operation of the heat engine on the level of the working process and of the crank gear.
