Annotation: 

The problem of calculating the natural frequencies of elastic rods with variable cross-section is solved by the method specified in the article title. This method is proposed by the author for solving the problems of stability. It is convenient, easy to use, and provides the results of high accuracy. In particular, the first few frequencies of the rod with continuously variable cross section are calculated with an accuracy of ten significant digits.
