The paper presents a point of view on the problem of inspection of slab-type building structures using bending waves in different frequency ranges. Having made theoretical and experimental studies, the authors have chosen such a range of wavelengths, which allows obtaining the best assessment of physical and mechanical characteristics of building materials of the inspected structures. According to the results achieved, there have been revealed comparative data regarding the relationship between the bending wave propagation velocity and its length. These data allow carrying out a more objective evaluation according to the obvious method, but it is not widely used in the inspection of slab-type structures.
