The paper presents a study of the transmission parameters of M2 category motor vehicle impact on fuel consumption and specific exhausted emissions of harmful substances with waste gases (WG) under urban driving cycle conditions on road according to GOST-54810-2011. The motor vehicle BAZ 2215 on the chassis «GAZelle Business» equipped with engine UMZ-4216 is chosen as an example. The tasks are accomplished by calculation and experimental methods. The methodology for experimental evaluationof harmful substances concentrations in WG is proposed by taking into account the dynamics of the acceleration processes. Results can be applied both for research work and rational selection of transmission parameters for other motor vehicles when driving in different standardized cycles as well as on real routes.
