Refinement of design soil parametersfor slopes` soil using grey relational analysis

Annotation: 

A geotechnical survey was conducted at an emergencysection of the M-7 «Volga» highway. The causes andmechanism of landslide-induced slope deformationswere established. A systematic discrepancy was identifiedbetween calculated stability factors and the actualcondition of the structure. It has been demonstratedthat the Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) method allowsfor the quantitative ranking of influencing factors(strength characteristics by layer, groundwater level)and the identification of the most critical parameters.A methodology for refining slope design parameters hasbeen developed and tested, which enables the justificationand implementation of a rational set of protective measures.
