The article deals with the topical issue for any forensic expert engaged in a road transport accident reconstruction and investigation. In order to determine the guilt of the driver, it is necessary to know where exactly the vehicle made a collision with the pedestrian, which is sometimes rather complicated in conditions of limited information in regard of the location of the vehicle-pedestrian collision and the vehicle speed at the moment of the collision. To exactly determine the location of the collision and the technical ability of the vehicle to avoid the collision with the pedestrian, it is necessary to take into account the pedestrian walking pace. During the research, there were revealed and for the first time presented the data on the walking pace of pedestrians talking on mobile devices at the time of the traffic accident.
